Formed in 2015, Velvet Alibi is a 12-piece,  groove ensemble created by Anna Nolan and Rohan Armstrong. Their expansive sound merges melodic songwriting and lush vocal harmonies with funky beats and virtuosic improvisation.

With over two and half hours of original material, the band’s live shows are hugely energetic affairs through which they have earned themselves a reputation for continually zig-zagging between many genres including funk, soul, reggae, psychedelic rock, ska and afrobeat. The collective bring together musicians with diverse musical backgrounds, many of whom are making a name for themselves in other projects including Comrade Hat, Captain A and the Commercial Monsters, and Joseph Leighton (Moving on Music’s emerging artist of the year).

After a successful mini tour of England in 2016, including high-profile Soho venue ‘The Spice of Life’, Velvet Alibi have a string of releases planned for 2017 and dates for festivals in Poland, England and Ireland.
